KEY MESSAGES: - Brief cooldown the next couple days before temperatures rise back above average over the weekend. - Temperatures cool down to average next week. Could be a chance of precipitation as well. WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: Closed Low off the coast of Washington weakens into an open wave and transits to the south of us tonight and tomorrow. Any precipitation with this feature will stay in southern Montana, though a brief shower could clip far southern Petroleum and Garfield Counties. Strong ridge of high pressure builds in starting Friday and lasts through the weekend with temperatures peaking Sunday about 20 degrees above late October averages. On Monday a larger Pacific trough moves in and will drop our temperatures back down where they should be in late October. Could be some precipitation coming with this trough but confidence is low on when and how much will impact the region. Will continue to keep an eye on it.
