Warm and dry conditions return this week with cooler temperatures later this weekend. && .Discussion... A quiet start to the week with near to above normal temperatures across the forecast area. Upper level ridging builds over the area as heights rise today. Afternoon highs will be low 90s to near 100 in the Valley with 70s to mid 90s over the foothills and mountains through Wednesday before a gradual cooldown for the remainder of the week. Wednesday will be the hottest day of this week with a 30-65% chance of exceeding 100 degrees over the Southern Sacramento Valley. Dry conditions persist each day with afternoon humidities of around 10-25%, driest across the Northern Sacramento Valley. && .EXTENDED DISCUSSION (Friday THROUGH Monday)... Temperatures cool each day into the weekend with increasing moisture from west to east over the Sacramento Valley.
