Weather, messaging, and impacts remain steady. && .DISCUSSION...Winds remain elevated Friday through the forecast period as progressive, west to east flow, continues over the region. Dry air, currently over northwest Montana, will mix into the entire region during the day and Minimum humidities return to the teens and lower 20s. Sunday, a weak cold front pushes through the region. Currently, beyond the ongoing background afternoon breezes no impacts are expected, but keep checking future forecasts. The next system on Tuesday, will traverse the Canadian border and bring the threat of showers and thunderstorms to northwest MT. Continuing the theme, the rest of the region will have elevated afternoon breezes with dry conditions. Looking long term: The southwest high pressure ridge is expected to rebuild and quickly get knocked down by another powerful Alaskan trough the weekend of 2-3 Aug. This is supported by 100% of the models, the main variance within the guidance is depth of the Alaskan trough and speed of breakdown. We will be monitoring the evolution of this weather event closely. && .AVIATION...Breezy winds out of the west will develop this afternoon and evening and will be the main weather feature at all terminals today.
